Dimarco's Early Strike Sets Inter on Course
Inter took the lead through Federico Dimarco in the 20th minute and never relinquished it, despite a late Juventus rally that fell short. The left-back's opener, set up by A. Bonny, gave Inter control of a friendly at Optus Stadium in Perth and proved decisive in a 2-1 win.
Juventus had no answer to Inter's early rhythm. Dimarco's goal came as Inter pressed high and moved the ball with purpose through midfield. The visitors' shape was compact and their transitions sharp. Juventus created chances but lacked the cutting edge to trouble Inter's defence consistently. By half-time, Inter had established a clear superiority in possession and territory.
Diouf Doubles the Lead
The second goal arrived in the 62nd minute when A. Diouf finished after F. Esposito had created the opening. That strike put Inter two goals clear and appeared to have settled the contest. Juventus had offered little in the second half to suggest a comeback was brewing. Inter's midfield controlled the tempo and their defence remained organised despite periods of Juventus pressure.
The two-goal cushion allowed Inter to manage the game without panic. They were content to keep shape, win the ball in transition, and hit on the break. Juventus were forced into a more direct approach, but without sustained attacking momentum, they struggled to generate genuine danger.
Conceicao Scores Too Late
F. Conceicao pulled one back for Juventus in the 85th minute, assisted by F. Miretti, and briefly threatened to make the closing stages uncomfortable for Inter. The goal came with five minutes remaining, giving Juventus a glimmer of hope and forcing Inter to defend more actively in the final stretch.
But there was no time for a Juventus equaliser. Inter saw out the remaining minutes without serious alarm. The win was secured, and though Conceicao's late strike prevented a clean sheet, it did nothing to alter the narrative of a match Inter controlled for large periods.
This was a comfortable outing for Inter in a pre-season fixture. They moved the ball well, took their chances efficiently, and managed the game intelligently once ahead. Juventus, by contrast, never found their rhythm and paid the price for a sluggish start. The friendly served its purpose for the visitors - a confidence-building win away from home. For Juventus, it was a reminder of the work still required before the competitive season begins.
