Southampton's under-21 side suffered a 3-2 defeat at Sutton United, a loss that leaves them chasing a result after conceding three goals. The match showed attacking intent - they managed two goals of their own - but defensive lapses proved costly against the National League outfit.
The sole fixture on record saw Southampton U21 travel to Sutton and come away empty-handed. Scoring twice was not enough to salvage the tie. The three goals conceded suggest vulnerabilities at the back that will need addressing in their next outing.
