Saudi Arabia

Overview

Saudi Arabia's recent run has been a mixed bag, with wins hard to come by against stronger opposition. The side picked up a convincing 3-0 victory over Puerto Rico but has struggled elsewhere, managing just two draws and three defeats across six matches. Spain's 4-0 demolition in particular exposed defensive frailties, whilst losses to Ecuador and Serbia suggest inconsistency when facing mid-ranking teams.

The 0-0 stalemate with Cape Verde Islands and 1-1 draw against Uruguay hint at a team that can be difficult to break down but lacks the cutting edge to turn narrow contests into wins. That said, the Puerto Rico result shows Saudi Arabia can impose themselves when the gap in quality is clear.

Recent Form

Saudi Arabia drew 0-0 with Cape Verde Islands before shipping four goals to Spain. A 1-1 draw with Uruguay followed, then a 3-0 win over Puerto Rico offered brief respite. Ecuador's 2-1 victory and Serbia's 2-1 win rounded out the sequence, leaving the team with one win, two draws and three defeats from their last six outings.
