Rennes

Overview

Rennes sit in the middle of a demanding fixture list that will test their credentials against France's elite. Three consecutive 2-1 wins over Paris FC, Nantes and Angers have built momentum, but the schedule tightens sharply with back-to-back encounters against Paris Saint-Germain sandwiched around a trip to face Galatasaray in European competition.

The Brittany club's ability to grind out narrow victories suggests a side that can compete, though the margin for error narrows considerably against PSG's firepower. Rennes will need to replicate the defensive discipline and clinical finishing that secured their recent wins if they are to avoid slipping in the coming weeks.

Recent Form

Rennes have won their last three matches, each by an identical 2-1 scoreline. They beat Paris FC at home, then travelled to Nantes for another 2-1 victory, before repeating the result against Angers. The pattern of narrow wins indicates a team capable of finding goals but also vulnerable at the back - a concern that will loom larger when they face PSG twice in quick succession.
