Real Madrid's women's side faces an immediate test against Ajax in the Champions League after suffering a heavy defeat to Barcelona. The 6-0 loss to their domestic rivals represents a significant setback, though the team bounced back with a commanding 2-0 victory away at Ajax in their previous outing.

Recent Form

Real Madrid won 2-0 at Ajax in their last fixture, a result that suggests they can perform on the road in European competition. That win came before the Barcelona thrashing, which exposed defensive frailties and a gap in quality between the two Spanish powerhouses.

The upcoming home fixture against Ajax offers a chance to rebuild momentum. Real Madrid's 2-0 away victory gives them a platform to work from, though consistency remains a concern. The gap between beating Ajax convincingly and conceding six against Barcelona illustrates the volatility in their current form.

European competition demands steadiness. Real Madrid showed they possess the ability to control matches - the Ajax win demonstrated control and clinical finishing - but the Barcelona result revealed they remain vulnerable to high-intensity pressing and clinical opponents. How they respond at home will determine whether the Ajax performance represents their true level or whether the Barcelona collapse was an anomaly.
