Real Madrid II

The B-team side operates in Spain's second tier, competing in the Segunda División. Real Madrid II's primary function is player development, feeding talent into the senior squad at the Bernabéu.

Recent Form

Real Madrid II took three points from Albacete with a 2-1 victory. The win came away from home, suggesting the side can perform under pressure in hostile conditions. An upcoming fixture against Deportivo La Coruña II is scheduled, offering another chance to build on that result.

The Segunda División demands consistency across a long season. Real Madrid II must balance the demands of competitive football with the club's wider academy philosophy - developing young players while maintaining a realistic promotion push. The squad typically features prospects aged 19-23, many of whom will have trained regularly with the senior side or been loaned out for first-team experience elsewhere.

Results like the Albacete win matter for morale and league position, but the real measure of success for a B-team is how many graduates eventually establish themselves at senior level. Real Madrid II's infrastructure and access to world-class coaching gives its players a significant advantage over counterparts at smaller clubs, though they still face the challenge of breaking into one of Europe's most competitive squads.
