NEC Nijmegen

Current Standing

NEC Nijmegen face a demanding run of fixtures with three matches against elite opposition on the horizon. Two meetings with Ajax bookend a Europa League tie against Sevilla, presenting the Gelderland club with a chance to test themselves against continental-class opponents.

Recent Form

No completed matches are listed for NEC's recent schedule. The club's next action comes against Ajax, followed by the return fixture and then the Sevilla encounter. These three contests will offer a clear measure of where Nijmegen stand in their current cycle.

The fixtures suggest NEC are competing at a level that brings them into contact with the Dutch champions and one of Europe's traditional powers. The back-to-back Ajax matches indicate a league commitment, while the Sevilla game signals involvement in European competition. How the squad performs across these three games will define their season trajectory.

The challenge is substantial. Ajax remain the benchmark in Dutch football, and Sevilla's pedigree in European football is well established. For Nijmegen to emerge from this sequence with creditable results would represent genuine progress. The next fortnight will be telling.
