Kasımpaşa

Kasımpaşa

The Istanbul outfit have picked up momentum in recent outings, though results paint a mixed picture. A 3-0 demolition of Samsunspor showed their attacking teeth, but they were held 1-1 by Hull City in what appears to have been a cup or friendly fixture. That draw suggests they can compete at a higher level, though consistency remains elusive.

Recent Form

Kasımpaşa won their last domestic outing with a commanding 3-0 victory over Samsunspor. The gulf in class was evident across the ninety minutes. Before that, they drew 1-1 with Hull City, a result that offered both encouragement and frustration in equal measure. They showed enough to avoid defeat against an English side, but couldn't find the breakthrough needed for a win.

Their next assignment brings a trip to Galatasaray, one of Turkey's heavyweights. That fixture will test whether the Samsunspor performance was a sign of genuine improvement or a one-off display against inferior opposition. The Hull City draw at least suggests they won't be overawed by stronger opponents, but Galatasaray presents a different proposition entirely. How Kasımpaşa respond to that challenge will tell us more about where they stand this season.
