The reserve side operates as a crucial development pipeline for Hoffenheim's first team, fielding young players and those working back from injury. Based in Sinsheim, the club's second string competes in Germany's lower divisions, where competitive football combines with the primary mission of player development.
Hoffenheim II suffered a 2-1 defeat at FC 08 Homburg. The loss marks a setback in their recent run, with the side unable to hold their ground against their hosts. Despite scoring once, the reserve team conceded twice and left empty-handed from the match.
