Ander Barrenetxea is a Spanish footballer who operates as a winger. He came through the youth system at Real Sociedad, the club where he has spent his professional career.
A product of Real Sociedad's academy, Barrenetxea progressed through the ranks to establish himself in the first team. He developed as a wide player capable of operating on either flank, bringing pace and technical ability to the side.
His career has been built at a single club, where he has competed in La Liga and European competitions. Barrenetxea represents the type of academy graduate that Real Sociedad has long relied upon to sustain their competitive level in Spanish football's top division.
As a homegrown talent, he embodies the club's tradition of developing local and regional players rather than pursuing expensive acquisitions. His progression from youth football to senior football at the Basque club reflects the pathway many Real Sociedad players have followed throughout the institution's history.
