Pochettino commits to USMNT through 2030 World Cup

The Argentine took charge in 2024 with the explicit brief of getting the United States competitive on the biggest stage when they co-host the 2026 World Cup alongside Mexico and Canada. Results and performances since have been mixed enough to spark plenty of debate among American fans, but the federation's decision to extend him well beyond next summer, rather than wait and see how 2026 goes, is a significant statement of faith.

It also gives Pochettino rare long-term security in a job that has chewed up and spat out predecessors quickly when results dipped.
